Oils should be used, only, if condom is not used. Because oils will make the latex vulnerable to break.
I would say edible vegetable oils could be used for Anal Sex as lubricants. In India, people use the following oils as Lubricant during sex both Anal and Vaginal. Coconut oil, Peanut oil (Ground nut oil), Sesame oil, Palm oil, Sunflower oil, Cotton-seed oil and Olive oil. All these are readily available in grocery stores and works better.
If you are using Condoms, then you should use a water-based lube like KY jelly. It is the cheapest and most accessible, available in any drug store.
Petroleum products should not be used for Anal Sex. They are harmful. Some couples who used Vaseline initially, discontinued it later.
